Remote-control vehicles for the win!
Feb. 18th, 2012 12:09 pmThis guy excavated his basement using remote-control construction vehicles. Same scale as the race cars. At a rate of 8-9 cubic feet excavated per year. He built a ramp so the dump trucks would take the dirt outside to dump it, then he'd drive them back in and load them up with front loaders. Several videos, I watched them all.
He started doing this in 2005, I have no idea if he's done.
Amongst the things that I'm curious about is how much maintenance his vehicles needed, and how often did he have to replace/charge the batteries. I'm pretty sure this is pure electric, I doubt there's hydraulics in vehicles of this scale.
