This is a sentiment that would make our country such a better place if only our elected officials would adopt it. Pinchot was appointed by President Teddy Roosevelt as the first head of the U.S. Forest Service. Interesting guy, was quite serious about conservation and forestry.

I can't see a way forward. If the RNC gets spanked in a few upcoming election cycles, that'll help. Perhaps they'll see that their commitment to the Religious Right and the NRA are detrimental to winning. But would even that help?

I think the best thing would be to overturn Citizens United and then limit campaign contributions to the state in which you reside, but who knows. I really wish we had a couple of things that foreign nations do: in the UK the election cycle is like two months long, in Australia it's legally required that you vote. I'd love to see that here.

The RNC is self destructing, because of the split between the Tea Party and your less polarized groups. So I think they're bound to continue with the spankings.. ;)
