"Let me be clear. Americans have freedom of religion -- but not freedom from religion."
—Texas Congressman Sam Johnson, on the Preserve and Protect God in Military Oaths Act, which would require Air Force Academy cadets to say "So help me God"

*sigh* Exactly where in the Constitution does it say you must follow A religion?

When I was attending local college campuses (I'm now in an online mode) I always wanted to start a Campus Crusade for Cthulhu: It found me! campaign. Cthulhu saves: in case he's hungry later.

Yep, same story here in FL, really. The urban areas naturally lean Democratic, but the districts are drawn such that only a handful in the whole state are actually considered competitive, and our legislature remains overwhelmingly Republican. We even passed an amendment to the state Constitution a few years ago calling for "logical and compact" districts, and the resulting redistricting was the same gerrymandered nonsense PLUS a court case wherein it was revealed that the "nonpartisan" experts brought in to suggest the new district maps were in fact the same old GOP hacks, just operating behind the scenes instead of out in the open. The case is still in the FL Supreme Court, we'll see if it gets anywhere this time around.
