"There's a man-made lack of water in California... It is liberal environmentalists who have brought us this tragedy...A classic case of liberals being willing to sacrifice other people's lives and livelihoods at the altar of their ideology."
—former HP CEO and possible GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, on the drought

'Sacrificing other people's lives'? Clearly the water shortage had nothing to do with no rain, lots of fire, and lots of almond production? And I'm sure semiconductor manufacturing doesn't use any water.

And you didn't even mention fracking, or water bottling. That's the thing here in FL--we're told how precious our water is and how we need to conserve it, yet companies like Nestle have no trouble getting permits to bottle and sell millions of gallons. It's all fine as long as it's for profit.

Don't get me started on fracking. I saw a Vice episode talking about the drought in Texas and herds of cattle dying off. I am amused by both Texas and Oklahoma having problems with earthquakes from it.

My wife and I don't buy bottled water as a rule, we have reusable bottles that you can run through the dishwasher. When we do buy bottled water, at the movie theater or on the road, we reuse the bottle for bedside drinking until the bottle starts stinking and then it becomes a poodle toy.

We have a double-filter system: one filter on the kitchen faucet plus a filter, and it produces very good water. Unfortunately at work we have RO, which wastes a lot.
