This from the guy who allowed pig gestation crates in NJ to try and get more of the farm vote in Iowa, the guy who had bariatric surgery and still weighs what he does, the guy who has had the credit rating of his state lowered three times or more 'till it's now pretty much junk bond status.

Yeah, this is the guy whom I want running the United States. I think he'd make a great runningmate for Trump, or vice-versa.

It's a knee-jerk reaction for these idiots: It's illegal and messes with our minds and bodies and must be stopped! Never mind that alcohol (overall) is much worse for our bodies when done to excess, and tobacco is horrible when you look at the carcinogens that it contains.

The funny thing was that pot wasn't illegal until a move by William Randolph Hearst and the DuPont Chemical Corporation started moving against it. Hearst because the rapid-growing self-renewing properties threatened his owning major forest regions for pulp, DuPont because properties of processed hemp threatened some of their nylon products. Then they snookered the American Medical Association by demonizing marijuana while not calling it cannabis, which they quite liked for a number of treatment purposes.

It's a sad and fascinating story. I did a presentation on it in a public communications course a few years ago.

If Christie thinks that sparking up is the worst thing that someone can do, then he has a lot of other things he needs to learn about, or that the public needs to learn about him, before anybody takes him seriously.

Christie is DOA for POTUS, but he might stand a chance to be someone's running mate. He also might be trying to raise his profile for a Senate seat, IIRC he's term-limited and this is his last hurrah as governator.

Yep, that seems right. And people still seem to like him, despite his track record as a governor. Perhaps because he styles himself a law and order candidate.
