If by "good", you mean "sparked off the current problem of religious factions warring with each other, backed by proxies", then sure, good, whatever. Thanks the telling us you're not wise enough to run the country.

Much like the former USSR, the underlying tensions were sitting there and poorly handled when the control was removed. A lot of the problem is that when the current geographic boundaries were drawn in such a poor fashion that conflict was all but inevitable.
