Merry Christmas, all!

Happy Holidays, Cool Yule, Festive Festivus, Hoppin' Happenin' Hanukkah, however you care to celebrate or not celebrate the nigh unto end of year festivities.
I baked a batch of chocolate eggnog cookies, still need to do a bit of a tweak, and just put a flourless chocolate cake in the oven. Once it comes out and cools for a bit, it goes in to the fridge and I go to bed! The tree is up and presents are wrapped, tomorrow will be making a batch of peanut butter cookies to try to get the time/temperature dialed in, then packing and off to the observatory to make
ysabetwordsmith's Amazing Mango Ham, as this will be my inaugural run at making this, it should be interesting. And the crowd will be YUUUGE! Bigger than any previous crowd! I'm going to have to fake the lemon thyme, I had plenty of time to find it online but it slipped my mind, so I'll be digging out some dried lemon peel and improvising. Yes, fresh lemon peel would've been better, but that's another thing that I didn't get, and there was no way that I was going in to a grocery store on the 24th!
And I'll have my huge Bag o' Games, with FIVE expansions for Cards Against Humanity, adding some truly profane and offensive combinations. And for the under 20, Exploding Kittens, Velociraptor Cannibalism, Kittens in a Blender, and a card/dice game called Knights.
So all y'all have a wonderful day, and avoid pointless political arguments. If someone tries to start a political discussion, the easiest reply is "So how about them Yankees?" Or Cowboys or whatever regional sports team there is. Hopefully your interlocutor will take the hint.
New Year's I'm going to do a taco bar with three different meat preps!

Date: 2017-12-25 03:46 pm (UTC)Actually, I do have Nuclear War in my set: not only did I support the 50th anniversary Kickstarter, I used to work for the company that publishes it! It was created by Doug Malewicki back in the '60s, then bought by Rick Loomis of Flying Buffalo, who has published it ever since and licensed it for publication in other countries/languages. They also publish(ed) two expansions, Nuke Escalation and Proliferation, which added B-1 bombers, orbiting space platforms, all sorts of stuff. I prefer the original. I even have the original white box edition somewhere. I have a variation small press of CAH called Bards Dispense Profanity, for those of higher brow. LOTS of fun. The first time we played CAH at work, we burned through the original game so grabbed the question deck from BDP and we kept going. I suspected, and it's been proven correct, that my work peers aren't much in to Shakespeare.

Load with one propaganda card
A successful launch kills 1 million due to massive paper cuts.
Silly, I know.
Got hooked on it back in my uni days way too long ago. Haven't played in a few years simply due to lack of others to play with.

Yeah, it's kinda pointless when you only have 2-3 people. You really need a boisterously full table to properly enjoy the game. Rick Loomis runs games at conventions where he combines multiple decks and you'll see a single game with 20-40 people in it.
