I am very happy!
Total parts and labor to the insurance company: $6,200.
Our deductible: $250.
That's one expensive rock!
Of course, the fact that the dealership has had the car since December 4 makes me none too happy. And one minor PITB is that I'll have to reprogram the radio.
But at least it's back, and it's before the semester starts. They did a full four-wheel alignment on it today, and all seemed well coming up the mountain this evening. And that drive included slush and yuck, all felt well. Tomorrow we're going to Las Cruces and spending the night, so we'll be putting 200+ miles on the fresh repairs and seeing how they do.
I hit four tire dealers and got prices. There are two in Alamogordo that close at 5pm, I'll hit them maybe tomorrow. 'Cruces has a Discount Tire, I'll check them tomorrow. One thing that I cannot understand is why people don't believe me when I tell them tires run a minimum of about $100 per tire for a decent tire. The least expensive that I saw today were $100 with everything, the most expensive were a very nice set of Yokahamas that run $580 for a set of four.
But this is something that we have to do, there's some major storms coming our way and I don't think the condition of my tires will work very well in heavy snow. We've been fortunate with mostly light snow, but that time is just about over.
