From what I've read, this is a rap artist who tends to do more thoughtful, lyrical pieces— and he's gotten a lot of flak for being "inauthentic" and "not black enough."

This is his response, and I must say, in context it's brilliant.

Out of context it's just hilarious. "Buy some land, n—, not spinning rims!"

I'm not familiar with the artist at all. I don't care for rap music in general. I do applaud the message in comparison to what I've heard in other rap lyrics. Call me old fashioned, but I like a melody in my music.
