A Canadian company has come up with the concept that everyone on an airplane should wear an anit-hijacking bracelet! The bracelet is, in effect, a taser. The concept is that if someone tries to hijack the plane, crew can zap the would-be hijacker into unconsciousness.

Ignoring the fact that the control unit could go berserk and start shocking people, or the hijackers could figure out a way to control the controller or remove their bracelets, or a flight attendant could go nuts and start shocking people.

Yeah. That's one airline I wouldn't want to fly on. Apparently the company is also a hype-machine and are claiming that TSA is reviewing this thing, TSA says they've never heard of it.

Adding to that the cost of having all that equipment added into the planes, testing it out to make sure it's working, and allowing the budget for when people walk off with 'em and they have to get replaced. Besides, even if it worked perfectly, how would they be able to quickly select the right one in the middle of a crisis? It would NOT be a good thing for some fight attendant to pick the wrong one and freak out the hijacker even more.

Not to mention what might happen if one of them accidentally arcs to the plane's electrical system....

Much like Communism, it sounds nice in theory.
