The second one won't make sense if you haven't read the Hugo Award-winning graphic novel. It's also in the New York Times list of top 100 novels of all time.

I get to be smug because I read the original when it was published as a twelve issue mini-series back in '86/'87, still have 'em in a box.

I've been debating whether or not to re-read the graphic novel collection before seeing the movie this weekend, a co-worker suggested waiting until after. I think that's a good idea. I expect the movie to be incredible, I know they changed the ending, but I'm OK with that. So I think I'll wait.

I don't like the look of Ozymandius. He's supposed to be the perfectly developed human, instead he looks like an Eastern European fop. I also don't like Rorschach doing the Bat Rasp, I always thought he should be a low monotone. I am ecstatic, however, that they animated Rorshach's mask, I think that's absolutely awesome.

But that's my opinion, obviously not shared by the producer and director. Still, quite looking forward to seeing it.

Yeah, I'd agree on Rorschach's voice. I'd always imagined it as the scary, emotionless monotone, too. He wasn't trying to be threatening or intimidating; he didn't give that much of a damn.

This is either going to be great or going to suck. I don't think they could do a middle-ground version of it.
