Idaho state Rep. Vito Barbieri and physician Julie Madsen, during House State Affairs Committee discussion of a bill concerning video conferencing and abortions:

Barbieri: "You mention the risk of colonoscopy. Can that be done by drugs?"

Madsen: "It cannot be done by drugs. It can, however, be done remotely, where you swallow a pill, and this pill has a little camera and it makes its way through your intestines, and those images are uploaded to a doctor who's often thousands of miles away, who then interprets that."

Barbieri: "Can this same procedure be done in a pregnancy -- swallowing a camera and helping the doctor determine what the situation is with the child?"

Madsen: "It cannot...because when you swallow a pill it would not end up in the vagina."

Barbieri: "Fascinating..."

I believe there should be a common sense test that must be passed before one can take office.

I saw a tshirt online that said "Common sense is like deodorant. The people who need it the most never use it."

I can't get over the failure to understand basic human biology.
