I'm looking forward to this, even though we haven't finished Season 2 yet!!!

Why the URL contains the word 'cancelled', I do not understand.

It has been one of my Desert Island books basically since I first read it, and I have a first edition signed by Sir PTerry! Now if I could get Neil to sign it....

We've been taking it easy watching it, watched the first two Sunday night, Russet had to work Monday, and watched #3 last night. I love how they're filling in little bits and pieces here and there yet still sticking to the core story. Just a marvelous job, definitely will buy the set when it releases.

John Kovalic posted this cartoon today, I thought it was quite marvelous.

This is a list of 50 quotes from Sir Terry Pratchett, perhaps my favorite author, who passed away six months ago this week. I picked up his new book Saturday, I didn't know it was a Tiffany Aching/Wee Free Men book. I quite look forward to starting it today, at the same time I'm depressed that there will be no more. I totally respect his family's decision to not allow more to be written, but still it saddens me. At least he left behind a HUGE volume of work for us to enjoy.

I had the pleasure and honor of meeting him at a Discworld convention in Tempe in 2010(?). Really nice guy and I got a I have a signed hardback of Good Omens somewhere here. I wonder if I could get Neil Gaiman to sign it if I mailed it to him.

He passed quietly in his sleep at the age of 66.

He is probably my favorite author, I had the honor and privilege of meeting him at a Discworld convention in Tempe, AZ a few years ago. I also got his autograph on a limited edition copy of Good Omens, now if only I could track down that other fellow who scribbled a few words for it.

Considering what Terry Pratchett has been diagnosed with, he may not be attending conventions for much longer. I'm definitely going. Other GoH's include Esther Freisner, Diane Duane and Peter Morwood. Membership is listed as $60 through the end of March, they haven't updated since.

I've been reading Pratchett since, IIRC, the fifth book (Weird Sisters?) which I got through the Science Fiction Book Club. He is one of the few authors, perhaps the only one, that I'll buy on sight when he has a new book out. Yes, Thud! was a little weak, but I think the body of his work is very strong.

Fortunately a minor one and not terribly problematic, but it puts him at greatly increased risk of a serious one. And he has a new book out.

Thanks for the news, Weirdo!
